The Students do Aggression and The Teacher do Violence

In the last meeting we have learned about Serious Management Problem. The problem is about Problem Behavior in the classroom there are consists of aggression, bullying and violence. Actually I felt difficult to found the problem about aggression and violence from my experience. Why? Because I do not have many experience when the students doing aggression or violence in front of the teacher. Average they were braved to bullying. Then, the teacher just quiet or say “do not say like that” and not giving some advice or make a rules to prevent it. Finally, I found one problem that I can share in this reflection. I will tell my experience about aggression from the students and violence from the teacher. It was happened when I was in Elementary School. 

One day, when a break prayer time all of students go to the mushola to take a pray. When all of students has done and go to the canteen, Inas walk alone to mushola because she was not yet take a pray. On the way, Inas met Yusuf and Yudi, they are her classmates. Firstly, Yusuf and Yudi have a certain good attitude, but when Inas accost them, they were raising Inas’s skirt. Directly Inas shocked and screamed whereas they were run and laugh. Inas cried then went to the home room teacher. After Inas told the incident, the teacher hunts for Yusuf and Yudi. They knew her teacher searching them. So, they were hidden in the wardrobe at mushola, but the teacher can found them. The teacher pulls them to out from the wardrobe and throw a slap. After that, the teacher brought them to the teacher’s room.

From the story, those are two points. First, behavior Yusuf and Yudi included to aggression. The second is teacher’s response with give a slap to them as punishment. What the teachers do is included to violence. In that time, the punishment is effective to prevent them do it again. But, it is not suitable if the teacher give a slap as punishment. Besides that it was gave a bad impact for their behavior in the classroom. Their respect to the teacher decrease, it saw when the teacher giving explanation in the learning process, they were chit chat and sometimes debated with the teacher. Besides that, I think it can give a bad impact for their future. Maybe sometimes they will imitate their teacher’s behavior when give punishment to someone.

As we know aggressions occur because some reason. How if the teacher find the problem behavior of students like my experiences? Firstly, ask them why they are doing that. After that the teacher can give some advice to them, and explain that their behavior is wrong. Then, make an agreement with them. The agreement is about how if they are doing it again, and involve them in making that agreement. So, they will more responsible to what they have made in the agreement. After that, do not think that the problem has done. The teacher should observe them to make sure that they don’t do it again. If they are doing it again, the teacher can implement the agreement.

It is going to be alright if it is solve with the right way. The teacher can make it worse or better.
