5th reflection - Teachers’ characteristics - Diyanta Wiga Pratama

Teachers’ characteristics

When I was in elementary school eventually in 5 grades, I always remember being motivated and interested in mathematics lesson, because before in that grade I hated mathematics very much. But, every day Miss Sugiarti the teacher that teaches in that grade had successfully changed my mind about mathematics, although every night my father always help me to understand about this subject. Miss Sugiarti knows that I can solve the problem of mathematics, she also know that I never understand the subject. But she always supported me and taught me after class. She also gives me big attention in order to I always study hard. She care of me and wanted me to catch up my backwardness over my friends and be successful together with my friends in the class.

From that reflection, we can realize that teachers’ characteristics have an impact beyond the classroom. Every Good teacher can improve their students’ motivation and capability to expert the subject. The professional teacher also can give positive influence on all aspects of their students’ lives.

So to be teacher is very difficult, they should have good characteristic in teaching. They should be known the pedagogic to be professional teacher. Not only have that, to be teacher should be had passion. Because when the candidate of teacher hasn’t passion, they will bore to teach the heterogeneous students.

So after we done some of SEP we can conclude by own mind that to become good teachers, we should have good content knowledge and pedagogical. Because I will become teacher of mathematics we should able deliver the material easy, contextual, in daily life, and explain the content of material.
