How will you implement MMSEL when you become a teacher?

During MMSEL course, I just realized that teacher has a huge assignment that has to do, except lesson plan and learning tools like worksheet etc. Teacher is expected to be able to understand each student included of the student’s feeling, student’s background and the important one that I have learned in MMSEL course is how motivated in learning they are. Why is it important? It is because the students’ motivation will influence the learning process itself and it will give impacts towards the students’ achievements. In addition, MMSEL is not only about learning The Motivation; I also learned how to make a well-managed classroom. It was really a complicated term that I have heard before. There are many parts that included in, such as problem behavior, communicating with parents, and so on.
Well-managed classroom cannot be separated with problem that can arise. One of problems that can arise is problem behavior. Problem behavior cannot be reputed as easy problem. Because problem behavior is the king of problem in the class, that can arise other problems such as bullying or aggression. So, before the problem behavior become bullying or aggression, the teacher should handle the problem itself. The way that teacher can do is personal approach which is to know the student’ motif in doing problem behavior. However, all approach should be done with a good condition; it means that in handling problem behavior, the teacher is not angry or judging the students, so it will create effective communication and conducive atmosphere.
Based on School Experience Program, I have experience with problem behavior in the class. The case that I faced was the student who always disturbs his friends during the class. I was really confused how to handle him. However, I just thought that I need to talk with him after the class because of disturbed. And then, at that time, I just came to him and said that I wanted to meet him after the class. Fortunately, He was nod. Then, I just asked him why he did like that, and I was really shocked when he answered. He said that “Miss, actually I am bored in mathematics class, because I have learnt all the topics that mathematics’ teacher explained in the class. Then, you can test me if you want to give evidence that I understand.” And after that situation, if I went to the class, I just bring the different worksheet that cover up for 45 minutes for that student. Finally, he was silent and did not disturb his friend again.
The story above is my experience in handling problem behavior. The student answered was unpredictable. Then, the thing that I can reflect is for making the problem become clear; there should be effective communication between teacher and students. And then, I think that effective communication can be done if the teacher has a good relationship with her/ his students. Why! Because when the teacher has a good relationship with the students and the student will not feel unwilling to tell their problems or maybe show their emotion like feeling sad and so on. And then, because of that problem, I want to give my students available time to consult or maybe just tell a story. It has purpose to make a good relationship itself. Then, my available time will be used to know my students’ character and also to implement that I have learned in MMSEL course such as motivation, communication effectively and reducing problem behavior in the class.
