First Reflection
Tuesday, 25 September 2012 was the first meeting of MMSEL course. On the first meeting, my lecturer told about the main objective of this learning, assessment and the assignment. To be honest, I did not understand what I would learn about in this course. Finally, my lecturer told that in this course we would learn more about how to motivate and manage the students for the effective learning.
First activity, my lecturer asked some students to give an example about when they feel motivated or unmotivated. The first think that came to my brain when my teacher asked about when I felt unmotivated or motivated was the experienced when I was Senior High School. At that time, I felt lazy to study and unmotivated because I felt there was no reward for me if my score was good or not. I realized that extrinsic motivation influence me.
After that, my lecture asked the students about our motivation to entered Educational College. The lecturer divided into two groups, one groups(group 1) was the students that really want to be teacher and the other groups(group 2) the students who have the other reason to entered Educational College. I was in group two.
Next activity, my teacher asked question, after two years, study in SSE who is really wants to be a teacher. Some students that in the start did not want to be a teacher move their place in to students who really want to be teacher.
Reflect on the previous paragraph, I think that the environment very influence student’s motivation. When the environment influence, the students will get the intrinsic and extrinsic motivation.
