My Classroom Management

Actually I cannot join in MMEL Class in this week, because I have others activity in Choir Clubs at this time. I ask PPT and classroom activity in MMSEL class to my friends who got teaching in my class this week. After I read the PPT, I have seen some of the material about well managed classroom. I got information about the characteristics and purpose of well managed classroom. Another that, in this PPT also tells the examples of problems that will be happen in classroom. I can imagine the activity that my friends setting as the teacher in this week, there is the group discussion activity and discuss about the two cases that there are in PPT, which is interesting activity I think. But I can not know how my friends managed classroom during the class yesterday.

Well, from the information that I got from PPT I try to managed classroom in my class when I will be a teacher. In first meeting, I will try to get and know who is my students more closely and make classroom agreement with my students. I will discuss with them about classroom aggreement include the consequences if the students do not comply the agreement. During the discussion I will guide the students to know the important of the agreement or rules that should the students do during the class. As example, mobile phone is not turn on during the lesson, because it could disturb other students. The students will be understood that using mobile phone during the class can disturb other students, and if there are disruptions, certainly the class could not conducive to learn. So that, why using mobile phone in not comply during the lesson.

Students are given the opportunity to think and give opinion about classroom rules and agreement that they are going to carry out from the class session that they needs. In examples they want the due date submission of assignment should be in the next week not the next meeting. Students should be shared the reason this agreement. Is the reason is appropriate and all students agreed with it, the agreement will accept. After the students agreed with all agreement, so the classroom rules can be implemented in the class by all students. The classroom agreement that agreed also could create a positive climate that can make students comfortable, relax and support learning process in the classroom. In addition, during the lesson I will try to manage and attention to all students in order and to comply with what that was agreed by all students.

Every begins the new topic or material I will present the learning objective that the students should be learn and what they will get from any material which I will deliver to them. Another that, in every classroom activity such as group discussion or other activities that have potential to make a class of crowded, I will make sure students are quiet and run to comply with the class rules. Regarding about the place of study, I will occasionally invite the students to learn outside of the classroom in order to see the new atmosphere. So that, the students is easier to get new inspiration or idea during learning process that related with the topic today. Sometimes, learning outside make students crowded and difficult to managed, but I will give the student remember about agreement and what I say for this session.  I will give rewards to the students who order and comply with agreement. Then, it is will be a model for other students and follow them. But the rewards do not given to students every class but it is given when the class is difficult to manage. Because if I give every session, the students will not be independent and aware to order and keep the agreement, they can comply because they will get the rewards.

Another that, I will try to use various method that appropriate of the students, then the students do not feel bored with one of the method that I use every lesson. When make a lesson plan before teaching in classroom, teacher should be organized the learning activities too and ready with many possibility that will happen during the lesson. So that, I should prepare other planning, that can help me during the lesson.  That is my classroom management if I will be a teacher and I feel that writing is easier than implementing.
