Developing interest in the learning activities

When we talk about developing interest in learning activities, what the things emerge in your mind relating to the issue? If it is relating with using something interesting like games or hands on activities in the learning activities, in your opinion, is it enough to get all of students actively involved in the learning and get the concept of what you teach?
Based on my own experience, the role of teachers in developing interest in the learning activities is not just end up with providing students the tools that can promote involvement in the learning activities such as games, open-ended question or hands on activities, but the teachers need to know how to integrate the tools in the learning activities effectively in order to make students’ interests exist along the teaching and learning process taken place. As you may know that students’ interests are important in learning and in my opinion when teachers can establish a strong desire or feeling of need in the students, it is good for students because it plays a critical role in the development of one’s thinking ability.
Actively engage the students in the discussion about what the subject has to offer, how the subject can be useful to them, now and or the future and what value the subject can provide for students, I think it can be the next step that the teachers can do in order to keep students interested and excited in the learning activities.  However when teachers can assimilate those knowledge within the minds of the students, they will become sound and of course careful thinker, right? Since those conditions may also lead the process of associating the new information with importance in the students’ lives, I think it can be a great way for students to establish long-lasting connection between their previous knowledge or experiences and the current topic that is being discussed.
Developing interest in the learning activities, I know it is not the only element that should be in quality teaching, but it is likely being an important educational tool. When teachers can develop interest in the minds of their students, it ensures the information that they learned is not only retained, but applied as well. So yes, since the issue is crucial in creating the best learning experience for students, as the next educators, it is our responsibility to not only teach, but also to teach in a way that will make our students want to come back for more.
